Gender Wage Gap

The National Endowment for the Arts reports that, among full-time visual artists in the United States, for every dollar a man makes, a woman makes 79 cents. These paintings interpret that statistic graphically, with 21% of the painting left blank. The void symbolizes what we lose—what remains unrealized—when the work of any one group is chronically undervalued.
